Credence Awarded DLA Contract to Modernize Mission-Critical DAAS Business Rules Engine
Credence will modernize the Defense Logistics Agency’s (DLA’s) Defense Automatic Addressing System (DAAS) Business Rules Engine—advancing the speed, reliability, and transparency of defense logistics transaction processing.
DAAS is a critical enabler of worldwide requisition processing and logistics management, receiving, editing, validating, routing, and delivering transactions for participating agencies. Its routing and translation component alone processes more than 14 billion data transactions annually, underscoring the scale and mission importance of this modernization.
Building on Credence’s ongoing DAAS Digital Business Transformation (DBX) work, the team will analyze more than 15,000 legacy rule instances embedded in application code, document and rationalize their logic, and consolidate overlapping rules for implementation in a modern business rules platform.
By separating business logic from legacy code and adopting open standards, the solution will increase transparency, simplify governance, and enable faster adaptation to evolving mission and technology requirements.
Credence’s approach combines proven delivery processes with targeted AI/ML capabilities to accelerate implementation and strengthen testing, validation, sustainment, and audit readiness supporting reliable operations throughout the solution lifecycle.
“We are proud to expand our partnership with DLA and help modernize the systems that keep defense logistics moving,” said Anshul Gupta, Principal of Federal Programs at Credence. “This effort will transform complex legacy rules into a more accessible, adaptable, and sustainable capability that better supports the mission.”
Why It Matters
The modernized engine and web interface will give DAAS personnel a centralized, well-documented, and accessible capability for researching and managing the rules that underpin DOW logistics transaction processing, reducing reliance on embedded legacy logic while improving agility, oversight, and long-term maintainability.
